Is every subcontractor verified and deducted correctly?
CIS payroll with HMRC verification built in.
For construction work under the Construction Industry Scheme, Orca verifies each subcontractor with HMRC, applies the deduction rate HMRC confirms, and pays from approved timesheets. Labour and materials are kept apart, and every deduction is ready for the monthly return.

Questions
CIS payroll: common questions.
What CIS deduction rates are there?
HMRC tells you the rate when you verify a subcontractor: 20% for registered subcontractors, 30% for unregistered ones, or 0% for those with gross payment status.
Is the deduction taken from materials?
No. CIS deductions apply to the labour part of a payment. Materials, plant hire and VAT are excluded.
Who files the monthly CIS return?
Orca records every payment and deduction per contractor scheme so the monthly return is ready to file with HMRC.
